Thunder Pig was born out of a term my buddy and I used to call our over built but super fun bikes.  This incarnation of Thunder Pig is no different.  Built to last, I created the whole bike out of straight 4130 aircraft grade steel tubing.  (all chromoly tubing starts out as some version of this, to my knowledge anyway.) While not the lightest, this bike is all fun.  Grab a burrito, a jacket, your repair kit and come back at sundown, or tomorrow even; who knows with Thunder Pig might take you.  

Generally, I build this bike as a 29+ design, but it is possible to make it a 27.5+/29 normal design as well.  The design is "neuveau XC" and suspension correct for a 120mm fork.  This makes it not super trail slack, but not old school steep either.  A nice happy medium to keep the flow going but not a beat down on the climbs.  The stock design has the longest front end off all my designs, but I keep the back end fairly tukt to keep the bike nimble.  The slightly higher bottom bracket allows for the nimble feel on such a wagon wheel bike, but it also allows you to run 29 x 2.6" without any issue.

*The version pictured is my NAHBS 2018 version.  The custom options shown (beyond the build kit) are secondary top tube, slider dropouts, internal dropper routing, t47 bottom bracket and "Any Cage" bottle bosses on the down tube.  Additionally it has a custom suspension correct for 120mm segmented fork with a set of "Any Cage" bosses on each leg and Boost spacing.
